Laughter In Paradise! FAQ’s

View More Sponsorship
  • How do I register for the event?
Simply by clicking on the 'register' button on the event page. It will bring you to a secure payment page where you can purchase up to five tickets online and reserve your spot. Upon purchase, you’ll be sent a confirmation email.
  • What time should I show up to the event?
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the event start time. Once the matching portion of the event begins, you may not be able to join, plus you don’t want to miss the host’s instructions. This also allows you time to get comfortable and order a drink if you wish, before the event starts.
  • What Covid 19 protocols are in effect?
The safety and health of our guests is very important to us. All attendees must be double vaccinated and show proof at the door along with ID before entering. You must bring a mask with you and wear it when entering and exiting the restaurant. If you are feeling sick before the event and do not have time to take a Covid 19 rapid test, we ask that you stay home to ensure the safety of others.
  • What if I don’t fall into the age category for this event?
We allow 1-2 years leeway on the age range listed for the event, however all participants must be a minimum of 18 years old at the time of purchase. Our events cater to all different age groups, so check back often for new events.
  • What if I purchased a ticket, but can no longer make it?"
All sales are final. If you cancel within 24 hours of purchase, you will be given a credit to use towards a future online speed dating event. If we feel that we do not have an adequate number of participants to run the event successfully, or restrictions change due to Covid 19, you will be given a credit towards the next event.
  • Is parking available?
There is paid street parking right outside of the venue on Lakeshore as well as on the surrounding side streets. Please read the signs to ensure what times are paid and what times are free. There are also a few Green P parking lots nearby.
  • What if I have no idea what to say during the group speed dating?
Don't worry, we've got your back! Group speed dating is designed to make it easier on each individual. It's not just two strangers staring at each other across the table, but a small group of single people connecting about everything and anything. Much like going to a bar with your trusted wing man or woman to help break the ice. We also have some tricks up our sleeve, if your group runs out of topics/questions.
  • Will I be able to chat privately with my prospective dates?
Absolutely! Once the group speed dating and comedy portion of the night comes to an end, the bar will stay open for a mix and mingle. This is when you can reconnect with those who peaked your interest during the event.
  • Will there be a host at the event?
Absolutely! I will be there with my assistant to welcome you and give you further instructions about the evening. We will walk you through every step of the way and will be available for any questions, or concerns during the event.
  • Do I have to be single to attend?
Yes, yes and yes! That means not married, not engaged, or in a monogomous relationship. Our attendees expect to meet other singles at the event and we encourage honesty and transparency in order to start a relationship on the right foot.
  • What if someone is being inappropriate?
We have less than zero tolerance for any behaviour that is inappropriate, uncomfortable, or offensive. If you experience this type of behaviour from a fellow dater at the event, simply notify myself, or my assistant immediately. We want this venue to be a fun and safe space for everyone, so we will be available throughout the evening and easily accessible to deal with any of the above issues.
  • How do I match with someone that I'm interested in seeing again?
The great thing about this event is that there's no filling out forms, or waiting until the next day to hear if the person you're interested in wants to exchange information. This is a more casual version of speed dating, so we encourage you to connect like you would when out on the town. Exchange numbersI, emails, Instagram handles, follow each other on Tik tok...whatever works for you!
  • What if the event is sold out?
We would love to be able to accomodate everyone, however in order to keep our events at a comfortable length and ensure that everyone gets a chance to meet, we must have a limit on the number of participants. You can email info@date-struck.com to be put on the waitlist for a particular event that is sold out, or book your spot for the next event. Tickets tend to go quickly, so we encourage you to check the website often for new event listings.
  • How many people can I expect to meet?
Our in person singles events vary in size and theme. Based on the size of this particular resaurant, we expect to have between 30 and 50 attendees per event.
  • How do I get myself banned from the event?
Simply put, we have zero tolerance for any behaviour that makes a fellow dater uncomfortable, or our DateStruck staff. We understand that our daters may have different opinions in regards to who they find attractive and what they're looking for in a partner, however meeting a new friend, or learning something from a new business contact can be just as rewarding as meeting a potential partner. We ask you to enter the space with an open heart and a curious mind.
  • Will I be recorded?
A DateStruck representative may take photos, or videos of the event for promotional purposes.
